Q about radiator

986 Views 11 Replies 7 Participants Last post by  92 sedan POS
guys, i have a quick Q here.

i topped coolant tank on past saturday, cause it was down and low. this morning, for some reasons, i wanted to check again. what i found out was very surprising. the coolant tank wasnearly empty again!!! what's up with that. i did see some white spills around nearby wires, hoses...

about five month ago, i had my break service done at dealer shop, they did tell me that my radiator was leaking, but not seriously. after that, i did check that constantly, and it's been good, until now.

i guess it is about time to get it replaced.

any advice???

thanks for your helps!!!

Use the web and locate a source for a Modine radiator. It is similar in design to the OEM.
RE:radiator

been there done that
paid under $100.00 for radiator
modine? when i tried to order one, the guy told me that KOYO will fit the best for the legend. i just had it installed last week and am wondering if it's good or not.

Not sure about KOYO, but I know that my neighbourhood dealer uses Toyo as a replacement radiator.

I have a Modine though.
do you like it? is the paint still black on top?
i might exchange it for a modine cause the paint on the seems came off. i hear this is a sign of a leaking radiator.

It works. ;) Not sure which part you're referring to, but the radiator top is plastic, and the rest of it is still black.

welovelegend, it isn't difficult. It would be best if you have the manual though. I got mine done by a shop coz they only charged me $40 for labor. :)
ive been having the same problem......the coolant reservoir bottle keep going down....cant seem to find any mark of radiator leakage though.......but also i found out last week that my radiator cap was old and was leaking....so i replaced that.....im going to continue monitoring the situation to see if the coolant bottle keep on going down or not....or is it because it was loosing coolant due to the radiator cap leakage that i had last week and is just trying to get the lost coolant back..

ya, you could be right, cause i also found coolant around the cap.

hey, did you get the cap at dealer?

thanks!! btw, i checked this morning again, it was fine. keep on checking.

heat wave.... 100 degree here!!! :( :( :(
i got Modine a couple months ago....several different mechanics recommended modine for Legends.
i got the radiator cap at a local auto shop for 8 bucks.....its exactly like the oem one though....fits perfectly
