Well, I unhooked it and it seems to idle better than when I've got it hooked up. Does this mean I need a new one? I've already cleaned it & still I got the same response, rpms going up & down, up & down, etc.

you could have a vacuum leak, my car had a vacuum leak and it would always rev up and down.

if you unhook your idle air control valve it will run, possibly. my legend does but my friends legend wont. try to drive around, turn on your radio, a/c, and headlights. let off the gas completly, the engine may stall. if that doesnt make the car stall then slow down and stop. then it should stall.

i have tested these things on my car and it made my car stall, when driving
