I'm wondering how useful it would be, for those who race with their automatics rolleyes: ), to use the S4 switch to throw in a little "manual" shifting. That way you could open it up all the way till 5500 rpms before switching to fourth. Actually, I suppose you could leave it in 2, rev it till the red line, slam it into S3 then red line it, and finally switch it to S4. This would probally work best with the G1 autos that have the S4 button on the shifter. (I LOVE THAT SWITCH)

Doing 2 to S3 is pretty hard on your tranny.
Dont wanna be doing that all the time bro.

Just leave it in S3, the benefits are nearly identical.

does all that shifting really make a difference in racing? for me if i really want to win a race i leave it in s3 from the start.

Using 2 will START you off in second gear. It's used for low traction situations. For best performance you want to utilize your 1st gear, so start off in S3
