I recently replaced the battery and the radio reads CODE. After I punch in the five number code nothing hapens.

Is there something else that I need to do before or after entering the numbers?... I have done this before but don't remember if I followed a prticular procedure?

PLEASE HELP.

Not that I remember just the five numbers a bing!

Now if you have attempted more than 3 times you have to leave the radio on for an hour before attempting another three times. Also check with your dealer or inside your fuse box to make sure you have the correct code.

I found a 5 digit code in the kick panel fuse box. Its along side of the inner plastic trim around the edges. How do I enter the code? I'm sure you have to enter it in some kind of order..

When you power up the radio, it will say "CODE". If the number reads 51356, at this point you would punch in 5, 1, 3, 5, 6, and the radio would turn on.

What I have noticed is the unit is a little dumb and slow when accepting the code. For example, it doesn't always register the key punch if you press the button too quickly. So, if your code is 54321, and you enter 54, but press the 3 a little too quickly or too lightly it will not recognize it and will skip the 3 and go to 2,1. Now, it things you entered a 4 digit code so nothing will happen. Unfortunately, if you start again, by entering the first number 5, it things that was the 5th digit of your first attempt so it now reads the wrong code as 54215 which will be rejected and nothing will happen, the problem is you don't know this so you keep entering the remaining numbers 4,3,2,1, but it now is only a 4 digit code again. The cycle will continue until the 3X max and the unit will time out. You don't have to wait the full 30 minutes as you just need to remove power from the radio again to reset it. Next time be sure to enter the digits slowly and press firmly. If that doesn't work maybe the code is wrong.

I just called acura and they gave me a quote for $92. I asked what was that for and they told me to remove the radio. I said, If i come in with my radio in hand and proof of ownership, how much!! They said, I had to make an appointment. Ebay has the code for $10 buy it now.... All you need is the radio unit number. We need to start a radio code post. Everyone that knows there codes should post them here with the radio unit numbers. What do you all think?

Heres a free tip for ya, take the battery cables off of the battery. Touch the cable terminals together. Reinstall cables on the battery and punch in your radio code. And youve got tunes!!!! just do it!

I saw a BOSE for an Accura Legend on EBAY. I'd like to buy the radio except that the guy selling says he doesn't have the code. Can I get the code from the dealer?

what's your radio's serial number? I can probably pull up the code for you. Check in your glove box or rear trunk and look for an 8(?forget how many) digit number.

i had the same problem, but it was because the code was from the old radio. So yeah yours was probably replaced and you don't have the new code. Because it should accept the code if you just type it in right.

I had the same problem getting my radio to accept the code. I must have tried every suggestion found on the forum twice over a two day period - but no luck. In desperation I decided to lock the doors from the inside before entering the code....... and MUSIC! Maybe the ant-theft system somehow thought the car was broken into or ?????????????. All I know is it worked, anyone know why?

Radio

After purchasing last week I just got done replacing the clutch and the dual mass fly wheel which must be made out of gold and plutonium for what it costs, but FINALLY I have the car back and of course the radio is locked. I've read the threads on this some say truck, glove box fuse panel. Well there is no serial number in the truck or glove box. Where might the fuse panel be located, seem like someone found the SN there?

Found 3 number on the radio, but only 1 that says SN. Have a neighbor that works at Honda and can (and has) looked up codes before. Needless to say after multiple attempts and battery disconnects, no luck. Probably Acura codes are different than Honda's? Can anyone confirm the length of the serial number?

if one of the numbers you found is a 5 digit number, thats the code you enter into the radio. If you dont have a 5 digit number, call Acura of Augusta (800-851-5158), tell em youre a member here, and give em the S/N. They'll give you the radio code free.

Thanks on the phone number, I appreciate it, what I was hoping to narrow down was which number off the radio was the serial number. Should be able to get that done today and I'll post the results.

As an asside, even with the cost of a new clutch and fly wheel my total was 4000. Drives like a dream and even though the clutch is new, it's very smooth.
I absolutely love it, the radio thing is a drag, but I'm sure to get to the bottom of it eventually and end up helping some other frustrated soul.

Confirmed codes for Honda and Acura are the same. Also confirmed the Serial Number but the code does not reactivate the radio. I'm forced to take it to the local Acura dealer.

Frankly, if you own the car, it's registered to you, you are in it and it's running with the ignition key. You should have the right to hear your own *&^&^$*#()@*(& stereo.

Looks like it's going to cost me another hundred to get my own radio to work. My happiness with this car just dropped dramatically.

im not understanding what youre talking about...the Serial Number and the Radio Code to unlock the radio are 2 completely diff numbers...

If you bought the car, the 5-digit radio code would be on a sticker either under the ashtray, in the users manual (if you recieved it from the previous owner), in the fusebox in the drivers footwell, or the fusebox under the hood, as was mentioned in a previous post. The radio code wont be on the back of the headunit itself (obviously for security reasons).

If you still cant find the 5 digit code to unlock the radio, then you call AoA with the phone number i gave you earlier, and they will look your code up based on the S/N that you found, and supply you with the radio code for free. Your local dealer WILL charge you for it.

I'll try to clarify.

I verfied the serial numbers for Honda and Acura are the same. End of thought. The code (code to unlock the radio) still doesn't work. Seperate thought. I know the number are different, I understand you have to find the serial number to get the unlock code.

On the same call, Acura verifed that the serial number given was consistent with the year and make of the car.

I didn't even get an extra key with this car much less a manual. The bottom line is that it seems the correct code for the serial number of the radio does not unlock it (the code given to me when giving them the SN). I've read the posts and try multiple scenarios.
