I recently replaced the battery and the radio reads CODE. After I punch in the five number code nothing hapens.

Is there something else that I need to do before or after entering the numbers?... I have done this before but don't remember if I followed a prticular procedure?

PLEASE HELP.

Summary

I have the code for the serial number, getting the code has never been the problem. I do appreciate all the help however, but I have a multiple sources to obtain the code for free.

The issue remains, the code for the serial number is not unlocking the radio. No matter how slow, or with the car locked or any other scenario mentioned.
I'm going to take it to Acura, and I will make sure to let everyone know what the solution was. They can't charge me for pulling the radio because I left it out so they can verify the serial number, I'll put it back as well.

It's because of all this support offered here that I am able to bring the car in knowing I have done everything possible on my own to make this radio work. For all your help I sincerely thank you, and I will let you know what the dealer says.

Ok, there are 2 stickers on the radio that say SN. The radio I have, probably has the real serial number in it's owner's manual and that's long gone. My Honda buddy, actually called in a favor and swapped out radios.

The "new" radio, had a sticker on the bottom and side, one of them matches the the old radios "sn". The other one on the new radio is the radio's SN, and by the previously described method obtained the code for that (a different code of course) and unlocked on the first try.

Wow, hopefully there is a matching sticker on the inside somewhere, or else I don't know that it could ever be unlocked unless there is a cross ref to the VIN, which I'm told there isn't.

All I can do is confirm the entry method, just enter in 5 digits, nothing special.

Thanks for all the help and moral support.

Help, is there a confirmation when you push each button...

to enter the code? I found what I think is the code on the back side of the little door that opens by the driver's left foot. It is a 5-digit number.

When I turn on the radio, "code" appears on the display. First, I am assuming we are talking about using the station preset buttons to enter the code, right?

I tried locking the auto door lock from the inside before trying to enter the code.

Now, when I push the first button, nothing happens, no beep and nothing appears in the display. Is there supposed to be some kind of confirmation of entering each of the five digits? I tried entering the five digits slowly, but nothing happens.

The radio has been working just fine for years until this morning. The only explanation of why this may have happened is that I was trying to set the clock, and there is a "reset" button by the hour and minute buttons, which I did push. Would pushing this reset button cause "code" to appear in the display?

you wont hear a beep until you have put in 5 numbers and it will either go to the radio or just beep and do nothing because you have put in the wrong code.

Hey Todd

Hey Todd, if your codes do not work and your sure your radio is functioning, I can tell you how to physically re-code the radio to a new code (so long as you know how to solder, or someone who can). Sometimes if the radio's been worked on before and the tech didn't know the code, they change it.

I Own 92 Acura and my Radio got stopped working due to dead battery. I put random number as code 3 times and it got locked. After that I got radio code from manual but now it is not accepting that. I tried all the suggestions of battery disconnection and keeping radio on for one hour but nothing is working. I also have radio serial number with me if anyone can get Code for me so that I can match if I am trying right code. Following is the information.

Model Acura Legend
Year 92
Radio Serial B10533677
