Rear shocks????

I need some help. I was driving and every dip in the road that I ran over I heard a scraping noise coming from the left rear. It sounded like the tire scraping the wheel well. It's really bad when I have passengers in the rear. Does this sound like I need new shocks/struts or what???? And If so will this cost me alot of money. P.S. I have some chrome 17" rims and 235/17/45 tires.

What is the width and offset of your rims? With a 235 tire, you better have higher than a +50 offset or you will rub regardless of new shocks and springs.
I suspect that the noise WAS the tire hitting the outer wheelwell lip, esp if the vehicle was loaded. Check the lip and the tire.
I think your right. I checked the tire and it looks like the wheel well is scraping the outside of the tire. But what leads me to believe that its more so the shocks is that it's only one scraping one side and when I hit a bump (when I have weight in the back or I hit a really bad bump with no weight) I hear a BANG.
