I know my rear tranny mount has been out for a while. I took my legend to a mechanics to check and he told me it's better off to change the two on the front as well. Is this true? What do you think? The mount is not cheap: $180 at my local Acura dealer. three mounts cost $540.

BTW, are three mounts the same?

Go here and pull up the engine mount section and you'll see that the rear (#3) which you can buy for $120 is not the same as the front L and R (#14) and there's also a middle one (#11)that has a different part #. I wouldn't replace those unless there is some major vibration or visible crack in the rubber mounts which you should ask to see. The rear is the one that most replace and that is more of a pain to see but easy to detect.
