I need to remove the rear deck on my 87 coupe legend.
I just recently installed some subs in the rear and the amount of sound pressure in the trunk is causing the deck to rattle like crazy. for now i have stuff pieces of cloth between the deck and the metal but i need to know how i can remove the deck so that i can properly fasten it down. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
Thanx

Take out the back seat using a 10mm and pulling it out. Take off the speaker grills. Unscrew the speakers and the speaker baskets. Pop of the tabs on your high mount brake light. Unscrew your break light casing. Then just pull up the whole back panel. It has a ton of pop tabs. You may break some in the process so be careful. Assemble in reverse. Good luck.

There are three 10mm bolts in the crack between the seat and the back. Then push the bottom towards the back of the car and pull it out. The back then lifts out. Kinda hard to explain. Just play with it a lil bit. There isn't much you can break when you are just taking the seat out.

Thank you again.
I tried to move the bottom seat and i couldnt get it lifted far enough out to reach the bolts in the crack.
But there is a steal metal strap preventing my from moving the seat. Do you know anything about that strap? or how to remove it?

There is another bolt to be aware of to remove...

In the middle on the drivers side there is a plate with 2 bolts...
One to hold down the bottom of the seat, and another slightly higher to remove the back of the seat.

Then there is a bolt on the passenger side as well in same position, and the 2 bolts on the outer edge for the back of seat.
Once unbolted, just lift the back of the base of the seat and it tilts forward. You can remove it from here as well.

Like already stated just lift the back a little then pull forward

that metal strap has a 10 mm bolt on it as well. Just take all the 10 mm bolts off for now. And you have to get the bolts off first before you remove the back seat. Its just the bolts in the crack and the rest is a bunch of pulling and pushing on the seats to get them out.

To get the grills off just pull forward on them from the back side and lift up a lil bit. You can do it with just your hand. The grills don't come off from screws in the trunk(at least not in the 6x9 Bose units). I can't vouch for the 6.5"s.
