How much HP will a cat-back remus exhaust add to the RL?

a cat back system won't do you much good unless she's first sucking in more/healthy doses of air...ie, intake is more important for HP gains than exhaust!

personal opinion: remus does better on VWs than Legends...

I've got a Supersprint free flow...and believe me, i can hold my own with a V8...my bro wasnt too happy with his `94 SL500 when i thrashed him from standing at the lights...

it just feels MUCH more lighter in pick, plus...the fuel economy is SO much better! ;)

Have any of u played Need for Speed: Underground (the 1st one) The Skyline when fullly upgraded sounds like a jet fighter. Something about that sound makes me so pumped and awed. I kinda want that sound on my RL. But why spend $500+ on something that only gives u minimal HP. And the newer RLs, i think 2002+ have like 15 more HP for using that new exhaust so i thought the 97 RL's exhaust was very restrictive and that a remus exhaust could add that kind of power.

CAI does not work on the 99+ RL. they need badly the resonator box, cause it is working perfectly with the 3 stage air intake.
when you remove all that stuff and put a K&N filter just in front of TCS, you will loose about 30 mph topspeed. already done that.
described above is not a CAI, actually have to put the filter were the cold air is at, else its just a filter, might as well just a k&n highflow. but with an exhuast it works better then with out. also i'm no expert on rls, but 30mph topspeed? i highly dought it

I am pretty sure if you buld a proper cold air intake that pulls air from the front grill and retune the ecu and adjust the fuel pressure, you will find gains not losses.

I'm thinking about just directing the air straight from the bumper to the filter box for the ram air affect.

I sure as hell know I have not lost 30mph top speed, not that I'm trying to go that fast anyways.

as i said, we did remove the whole resonator box leaving just the lower part of the original airbox in the engine bay. then we installed a K&N cone filter straight on the TCS.
after that we went for a test drive. sound was amazing. you can cream your pants when driving in tunnels. but then we step on it and the RL was not going faster than 115mph. with all the original airbox and K&N hiflow my RL is doing 147 mph.

has this been repeatable on another car??? I removed my resonator and can still get up to whatever mph I've been comfortable with jamming to Vegas on the 15 freeway.

Where can i get these books you speak of RLuke
at Honda/Acura. but keep in mind, they are expensive and not every dealer will sell you them. here in europe you have to pay about 300$ for them.

i don't know. we only tried this on one RL. are you sure you can make it to topspeed?

Alright I'm ending this BS that keeps getting posted. Personally I despise when people post shit on the internet and then it magically turns into fact.

I have a 96 RLegend and I have removed my intake resonator. 2 nights ago I thought of this wack ass comment and decided to push my car risking a ticket. I gave up at about 140mph thinking I've proved to myself my theory of morrons on the internet. :nutkick:

Anyway, don't take it personally. Maybe you messed something up on your car or something is different from my base model vs yours with the TCS, but just removing a resonator, that would obviously free up some intake resistance, would not drop your cars overall top speed. If anything, it probably helped acceleration or increated top speed.
