I need to replace my FTU next to the ECU in my Coupe, but haven't discovered the proper way to do that. The floor carpet does not seem to want to cooperate. Is there another way to do this without cutting the carpet or removing the console?

Thanks, but was kind of trying to keep things as OEM as possible.

Looks like a 5-minute job if the carpet wasn't there.

Guess I'll have to just suck up and take the console out (again).
But, I don't have to be happy about it. Having some trouble working around thunderstorms these days.

My coupe's are 89 & 90. The carpet only has some velcro strips on it. You simply peel it back starting from the top down. I easily removed my ECU and the FCU in a few minutes.

It's not really under your feet on my car its under the carpet where it starts to slope up toward the firewall, you should be able to get your fingers in there.
