Is there a DIY for replacing the axels?
can this be done without power tools?
and I chked the online manual, it says to drain the differential oil with a new one..is this necessary?

I got these things changed on the other one but im sure the mechanic didn't change the differential fluid..sud I get that done 2?

mine are getting pretty bad and the vibrations are getting worse..

thnks

PS this place is very helpful :)

Only need to drain the diff fluid if you are removing passenger side axle. Not too bad of a job, but you will need to separate the lower ball joint from knuckle without destroying the boot. (read: no pickle fork unless you are really careful/good/lucky). Impact really helps getting the hub nut off. Inner side pops out of diff with the help of a big screwdriver. Labor at a shop should not be too bad if you don't want to tackle it. Use NEW halfshafts, not remans. Napa sells for 100 a side.

You don't have to drain the differential to change either axle. They (ACURA) may reccomend it but it's not necessary.
I have changed approx 15 Legend axles over the last 4 years. The best advice I can give you is don't use remaufactured axles on the Legend. I learned this the hard way. This car is very sensitive to CV axles. The best deal I have found is NAPA "new" axle for $100
