Hey guys

always liked these legends when I was younger , and recently came across a super low mileage (65000 miles) 95 LS, black on grey, for pretty cheap($1600), so I grabbed it.

It needed a bit of work, ive done quite a bit so far but theres still a ways to go

So far ive :

-got it running (running very well now)
-cleaned it fully ( was super dirty and mouldy)
-free'd a sticky rear caliper (which fixed the ABS light)
-new air filter
-new oil
-sourced a set of OEM mats
-installed new bulbs

Anyways , I have a few questions, the main one is that when the car starts up, the first start of the day, it produces some really awful smelling blue smoke, from my research I belive this is an EGR problem.

Does anyone know anything about the EGR blocking kits?

The engine is running pretty smooth and nice now, but Id like to deal with the EGR.

I have a much newer model Lexus sedan, but I wouldn't mind restoring this legend and keeping it as a work vehicle, and fixing it up bit by bit, including maybe a nice set of wheels.

Anyways here is some photos of the car.

Thanks in advance guys

From my research its pretty clear its a dirty EGR valve, does anyone know where to source a EGR blocking kit?
Heres a great tip that wont cost you nothing if you have the right tools

Check your spark plugs!

if you have oil on your spark plugs, that may be the source of where the smoke is coming from.
I wouldn't block the EGR port. I would do an EGR cleaning instead to prevent pressure building up in the back of the engine of it is clogged and causing the car to eventually blow a head gasket near cylinder 6.

Blue smoke on startup (as well as after idling, like at a stop light) is a clear indication of the valve guide seals needing to be replaced. One "fix" that has worked for some is to replace the oil with Shell's Rotella - available at most auto parts stores. (It's thicker) Do a search and you'll find all kinds of help.

yes that's what I originally though, but the smoke has a disgusting smell too it, which many threads have said is caused by a dirty EGR

I don't get any smoke after idling, or while waiting at lights, its only on cold starts
