Rust on 1994 GS

My 1994 Acura legend gs is great runs very well and passed safety inspection unfortunately theres a huge rust issue especially in the rear door jam basically the frame. This is Ridiculous. Is it worth 3k to just replace the door jam or threshold? I really want to fix it but can I use something to stop the rust or can I still drive it? Any suggestions? Thanks

Hi,
that is a problem of every car of that age and older. You can fix it with welding new sheets, but that you mostly have to repeat it every four to six years.
Unfortunatly rust is like cancer.
Of course I had welded several edges at my Legend too.
