I passed this black Saleen S281 on the highway, they have like 285 hp, (pretty fast too). Anyway I passed him going like 90 and he revved his engine so I gunned it. He immediatly passed me while I had it floored, but right around 110 he couldn't seem to pull away. I stayed about 2 car lengths behind him until about 130 and had to slow down.

The Legend engine never ceases to amaze me, I mean I have a little over 200 hp and I can push 140. It almost defies the laws of physics. This v-6 is probably one of the best engines ever built!
How much does the Legend weight? Does anyone know the hp to weight ratio?

what makes our cars way so much? I mean yeah it's a bit longer than most of the cars out there....
SOLID luxury car.

Ride in an Accord, Civic, Skylark then you will see why :)

The othe cars in its class were much heavier if I recall --- Q45, LS400 almost 4k off the top of my head

That's where Honda finds it's power.... not so much in raw HP, but rather in their vehicles' low weight when compaired to their compitition. The NSX and the Type R's are perfect examples. Our Honda's arn't exactly the fastest cars around, but then you need to define what fast is. As for us in the Americas, we think fast in the way of straight line speed, but in Japan, they think in the way of twists and turns. That's truely where lots of Honda's high tuned cars shine. Take for example, Cunningham in his race ITR and NSX. They don't do too well in the straight (I think a torque deficite is to blame), but once they hit the turns, it's like they're right at home. Very natural with a little bit of understeer.

Mustangs have really short gears, and their topend isn't that great... I've beaten Cobras up to 140 before, and also many, many GT's.... my buddy in his S2000 beat a Cobra all the way from 30mph-155mph... the Cobra owner was quite angry...

Actually a 91 L Sedan is the lightest G2 Legend weighin in at 3390, lighter even with the manual. At 3390 that makes a Legend lighter than a Porsche 911 :D

I'm confused, how is it that a 1991 Legend Sedan is lighter than a Coupe, and why would it be lighter than the 92-95 Legends . I heard that the 93 Legend coupe was the lightest legend out there.

91 Legend Sedan was the lightest of the bunch. Dunno why it's lighter than the coupe (by 50lbs) but it's lighter than the newer Legends mostly because it's lacking many features like heated seats, dual side air bags, telescoping stearing, etc.. that stuff adds weight.

I actually have the original papers when the car was imported and it was weighed at the dock when it landed in the US and it weighed in @ 3390lbs.

I dont knopw about that. He may have been just taking it easy on you. I drove a 2001 s281 last year and I got it up to 55 and cruised for about 5 miles until my lady friend pushed my knee down on an open highway and WOW!!!! From 55 to 105 in what I thought was 2 seconds. That car was no joke. The fastest car I'd ever driven. Scary FAST!! I wouldn't even look at one and attempt to race it on the highway. By the way, I HATE MUSTANGs!! The SVT,Saleen,Cobra's, the whole family of them.

if memory serves me there are 3 engines for the S281, the supercharged one being close to 300 ponies and the weenie one being only moderately more powerful then the standerd Mustang GT.
