i just took off the "ACURA" emblem off my hood (the one in the upper left hand corner), and had no problem. but there's a bunch of sticky stuff underneath it, stuck to the trunk surface. its real dirty, and real hard to clean off cuz its so stubborn. whats the best way to clean it all off without scratching up the paint job?

Adhesive remover/cleaner from a body shop supplier. Or, bumper sticker remover from WalMart, Target, or other similar store having automotve supplies. Using heat you must be careful not to overheat the painted panel.

I think you mean you took it off of your trunk lid rquest77.

is the 'A' emblem on the trunk removable also ? or is it screwed down ?

On 91-92 the center "A" emblem is held down by adhesive and two pegs. If you remove it you will have two holes where the pegs from the rear of the "A" emblem went through. Then you have to get that shaved.

To answer your question, it kind of is "screwed down".

So you can easily take off the word "ACURA" but not the "A" symbol. How about the word "LEGEND"? Same story just glued on or is it on with guide holes, too?

i just took off my ACURA emblem .... got all the adhesive off but theres still an outline to it.....will waxing get rid of it ???...i dont think the outline is adhesive though . im prettey sure i got all the adhesive off

I believe on the 91-95, all the emblems on the trunk with the exceptioon of the 'A' Symbol are either using double-sided tape or glue. The 'A' symbol is using a combination of double-sided tape/glue AND it is held in by 2 pegs.

How do I go abouts in removing all of 'em without hurting the paint on the car? Do I use some sort of wire to saw my way through it?

when i took mine off, i noticed that the paint was chipped. almost completely outlining the word "ACURA." feel it, if it feels like the paint is damaged, youre pretty much ****ed, depending on how deep it goes.

In 94-95 The word "L E G E N D" is spelled across the trunk, those are glued.

i have a 94, so all i have is "ACURA" in my upper left, the A and "LEGEND" in big letters. im pretty pissed b/c the stupid adhesive is so stubborn, and i've made a medium sized scratch trying to get it off. there still adhesive. how do i get rid of this junk?

btw the "LEGEND" logo in big letters (below the "A") is glued on? i thought there were holes behind them. shoot, if there aren't any holes, im takin those off next !

Thank you. I thought I could feel something protruding behind the "LEGEND" in the upper right on my 91 coupe. There is a tiny access plug I got out and felt around. Guess if I can't get rid of both the ACURA and LEGEND to clean up the back of the car, then all three stay...until she goes to my buddies body shop next...then all three go. I just love the new CL trunk...not even a key hole...now that IS clean!

Yeah, upon closer inspection, my gold lettering of the LEGEND word has that same issue with the chipped paint, but I am trying to bet on the fact, if I take it off and put the new lettering on that the chipped paint won't show and still be hidden behind each letter.
