ON MY WAY TO WORK....11:30 AM november 3rd 2005, 221900miles.

she started hesistating.
my fuel light was on and my display said 1.8gal left.
so got off the e-way onto a ramp and turned down my radio and what do i hear.
MY ENGINE KNOCKING/CLATTERING LIKE NO TOMARROW.
THE OIL LIGHT STARTED BLINKING AND THE CAR SHUT OFF.


OH MAN I FEEL AS THOUGH I LOST A MEMBER.

i put about 22,000miles on her myself and paid about $400.

i'm very sad...she will be missed!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Consider replacing the engine. My sedan did that on April 23rd, at about 2:30 AM, on the way back from Orlando. Same thing as you describe. Later, oddly enough, we found that one of the radiator hoses had blown away from the engine block. Yeah, I know it's expensive, relatively speaking. However, you can get one for about $400-900, delivered. I replaced my sedan with a coupe, and the sedan is waiting for a new engine. I guess, like most of the people here, I just really have a love for this car. I can't explain it, but, it's worth te time and effort to me. Give it a thought. Hell, I can find you an engine for dirt cheap, plus shipping.
I'm sorry that happened though. I know how bad it sucks for you.

yea it's at my job.
thats what i was gonna do last night but i had intentions on leaving it at the gas station till this morning.
but my manager said just drive it over here.
man she still has get up.

if it's just the bearings should i replace them or just get another engine...

i mean even though she has rust on it...i'm thinking if i get another one it's gonna happen again, but if i get a younger one it'll be awhile.
i can't let the car go...i just don't know why.

then i tell myself...well while saving and if i see one for sale and i don't have the money...then end up having the money a few months down the road go back to see if it's there....it's not gonna be there.

i found a place were they have the jdm engines and install em'.

so hopefully they take her in and be able to hold her......

how much did you guys, who now has a jdm c27 series, did you pay to install.

and is it worth it?????

UPDATE:::::
well i started her up and she's running.
so i figure...hmm i wonder if it would be worth it to drive her to the shop.
so to test her i take it around the block.
now i know the interior is a a+ design because it sounds more like a valve tick instead of a rod knock.
so i take off...easily had her in "d" mode about 20 minutes later i come up to a slight hill and she down shifts to the point the engine rev's to 3,500rpms...and all i heard was...as if it ranned out of gas and clunking sound.

and cylinder 3 gave out.......

uhh yea...but today i went to a car dealership where my nheighbor works.....
he was showing all of these cars...whould've been intrested in a 92 maxima..but it was a stick shift.

then right in the corner beside a 90 lexus (rear drive model) with a busted window.
was a 96-97 acura tl3.2 for $7900.
i was drawn to it..in fact i thought it was the rl...but remembered the rl looks plain(sorry,but they're powerful).
it was a tl.
he was like: you like that we just got it in last week.
he went to get the keys and started her up.
i opened the hood...3.2.
it looks very nice...i really want it......

Anyone looking for a C27A1? I got one .... haha, shes got 250K on it tho. Ran better and was more quiet than the one in my 1990. Thats just horrible to hear 2.7legend about your car! i know how i would feel if my legend died .... and it hurts more to hear people say to get different or newer car .... they just have no clue what its like to own the legendary Legend. I hope you can find an engine or another G1.

yea just seeing her just sit, is really killing the hell outta me.
to be honest i DEEPLY belived she was driven hard right from the begining.
and i had this noise for a long time (except the clattering noise)....
as one of the member's said it cost a pretty penny to do the rust job.
so figure...it's gonna cost 1500-2000 just for the engine and installation.

she took me to a different side of honda.

and guess what...with the rod being when i was able to run her......no smoking out of the exhaust...go figure.

the tl that i seen though has the same engine as the g2 legend.
so if i get the car(which i hope i do)
i'll still be driving a legend....except newer.
i seen that car and thought...i gotta have that car.
all the cars i owned was something that i really did'nt want.
esp. the cougar.
but the 86 accord to me to the world of honda which showed...hell you can drive all you want and not have any problems.
the legend took me to the luxary side of honda which told me...
honda has some kick ass power, relaibility.

and her last race was with an 05' grand am gt.
she did good on those 4 runs.....
i will miss her

don't worry.....
i found a place where they'll do evrything for $1300.
thats about 200 cheaper.....
plus i know them so i'll see how that goes.
as for the tl...i may not be so lucky with it.
i figure by the time i do get the money someone else may have it.

i mean then i have to think it does have about 200,000miles on it too.
my legend has 21,000miles more.

so who's to say that it won't happen again.

then my credit is'nt so sunny either...so they'll probably hit my ass up with alot of intrest.
i need to be in behind the wheel of an acura/honda agian...i'm currently driving a 91 sable....with a "police package".

Yea I'll see if I can get some pics this weekend. Yea the max has like 150K (black) on her, always taken to the dealer for service. This bama in a escalade w/ 22's tried to race me last night, I was like dude, "I wouldn't even want to embrass u like that" ! LOSER
