If you guys have a stock head unit and CD and your antenna stays down w/CD, I think you must have smartenna already. I read good comments on some NSX forum. I printed the purchase info and have it here somewhere. Send me an email if you want it. I will probably get it too.

Hmmm...my antenna doesn't lower when I listen to CD's...what could be wrong with my car?

I have a completely stock head unit...and I haven't touched the antenna setup...

Any further info would be greatly appreciated....

I have a Smartenna

I love my Smartenna. I play CDs almost all the time so the antenna stays down. It comes up in about 5 seconds when I switch to the radio.

No stock Legend will have the antenna down when playing CDs.

When I posted earlier it slipped my mind that I have an aftermarket deck. There might not be anything wrong with your antenna.

What kind of a CD player do you have? Is it in the deck? Is it a changer? If so is it stock or aftermarket. If it's aftermarket is it one those that works when you tune to a specific radio frequency? If it's the latter then I don't think the smartenna will work.

You might want to consider buying a new deck instead of the smartenna.

I have a stock deck with the stock Alpine changer in the trunk..I want to keep my stock deck also....I talked to the owner of smartenna and he tells me it doesn't work on a Legend...smartenna
But I guess he was wrong....

Has anyone had any problems with it?

How much does the smartenna cost?

Thanks a million

You will need to purchase the NSX Smartenna version

Has anyone had any problems with it?

No problems in over a year and very easy to install with some basic wiring skills.

How much does the smartenna cost?

I paid about $50.

g2girl: I noticed that you have mb quarts with an amp on a stock deck. I was wondering if your deck was BOSE, and if so, how does your system sound? Is there any distortion at any level? Because I was planning on buying quarts and amping them, but my system is BOSE and I heard there could be problems in doing so.

hey girl, does it go down at all?? Maybe a bad fuse? I know this sounds stupid but the install techs a Circuit City actually could help you out. And if you need a new one they install cheap.

no offense but those circuit city and best buy techs don't know a damn thing...well okay circuit city ones know a little more than best buy, but they all are just kids that don't know a damn thing about anything.

and plus i have heard from a bunch of sources and my own suspicions too when i used to work at best buy that the same people who install stuff in your car at those shops, will also help or be involved in stealing the stuff back for themselves if they want what you got...since they already know everything you got, how to put it in and take it out, what kind of alarm you have and other security devices, INCLUDING your home address most of the time when you fill out the paperwork. i never go to these places anymore to get things done and just go to some specialty audio shops, but even then i no longer give them my real address.

My experiance with them in NC was good. But there are a francise so if something does come up missing they will pay and it isn't hard for anyone to install power antennas. I guess another solution coulb an ACURA dealer or a trust Audio shop... Thanks for the warning for her DaTimez
