Next morning (friday) we started off early, had a good breakfast hoping to tackle the whole project that day. It was a busy day and i didn't take alot of pics.

me working on getting the front of the engine together, coolant lines hooked up. Pulley's installed. we ran into a issue with the power steering pulley. still have to take care of that.

back to the project.

Mike made these awesome extended O2 sensors. they are wrapped in the same stuff ppl wrap headers with. even though they don't really touch the headers. They fit perfectly.

Saturday afternoon...

swapping the stand for hoist

Image

Getting ready to install the trans the first time.

Image

Image

Image

saturday was a bust, we installed the trans on, then spent a few hours trying to get the clutch fork into place. with no luck, i came to the conclustion the fork must be damaged. We called it a day.

sunday morning......

saw this 6spd coupe on our way to mike's garage after breakfast, yes we left a note!

Image

So we started the day off by pulling the trans off and seeing why the fork isn't sliding onto the bearing

Image

wow that is bent! we used my hydraulic tool set to spread the arms out, sorry i forgot to get a pic of that :headscrat:

once again the trans is in place, fork is installed, slave cylinder is installed.

Image

me trying to flintstone my coupe

Image

the infamous drop. it went not too bad, pretty smooth, aside from crushing a power steering line :(, who needs powersteering anyways

we did come across a major issue, I used the wiring harness from my parts car (93 auto LS) which has 1 plug on the harness that different btwn a manual and auto. I didn't get a pic, but i will. I had to make a harness using the firewall harness from my parts car and my old engine harness to go in btwn my firewall harness and new engine harness.

Sorry i don't have anymore pics of the engine installed or the car ready to go, i don't have a camera, and my sister took the one she was letting me use b/c she needed it.

However once its avaible to me, i'll get some video footage and more pics very very soon!

Special thanx to,

Mike (sirhannick) and his parents for putting up with us and leting us make a mess in the driveway/garage.

Ben (swift) for all the hard work in helping make all this possible.

Ken (kenso) for advise thru out this build (this weekend and in the past!)

Matt (sr5guy) for helping solve our no-start issue + tons of other advise thru out the build process...

John at Land Air Association for the machining work (heads, block, quality work, great guy and fair priced)

my friend Zack and the guys over at Pully Acura in Highland Park

Brian (aim:internetautomart) for all the non-acura parts. (best deal on parts ever!)

AND anyone else i may have missed!

naw, that was from when we pulled the engine out!

so whats the purpose of a nsx filter when you put a cheapo crappy filter on for the install? j/w
yea like I'm going to waste my $10 each NSX filters for breakin. and actually the other filter wasn't even a cheap crappy filter. It was a decent quality filter which was larger then a normal legend filter but a little smaller then oem nsx filter.

yo alex! nice. did you get the b-pipe yet? I can't tell cause it just sounds so badass.

I just got in from pulling my motor/trans. Went without a hitch.

also before i forget...can you crawl underneath and check the torque on the oil pan bolts?????????????????

its with the t-test pipe in place, i haven;t gotten the bpipe yet but the exhaust is directed as much as possible thru the old bpipe but there is a 3-5in gap.

um underneeth?? i'll see what i can do, i want to pull the valve covers and check the tq there

i decided to reclean underneeth the hood today.

Looks real good now.

Also i went back and retightend bolts and nuts here and there.

I found alot that have come loose or were never too tight.

shez running alot better now.

Alperovich

So, I see the nice "Koyo Radiator box" and also see "Mizumo Head Gasket Kit".

Where did you get that "Koyo Radiator"?, I believe it is Aluminum core + plastic tank? The box looks really great!, the shipping/handling must have been very good. How is the quality?

I am thinking about replacing my rad soon for preventative measure. When I ordered the Koyo rad 2 years ago assuming it was aluminum (and that was what that stupid vendor said!), what Fedex man dropped me was "Copper/Brass + Plastic water tank" in a beat-up torn down dirty paper box with bent water inlet/outlet.... I really want to try true real Koyo Aluminum rad.

And for that Mizumo Head Gasket kit..

Where did you get that? how is the quality?

Thank you

yes that is a koyo radiator. Its Aluminum with plastic tanks. i think i piad like 170 for it. i got it locally not online thru my parts contact.

The HG kit was ok. I got it on ebay. My original plan was get Felpro HG's and use the rest of the kit i got however Felpro is on a national back order for our HG's, WTF? the kit wasn't terrible. It had everything i may have needed and then some.
