I was on the other end of a deal like that - I was totally serious and had an agreement to buy my 94. I arranged financing and had the check in hand, and was going to head down to pick up the car the next day. The seller called me and told me he'd had a higher offer and was going with that guy. Wow I wasn't happy, but I decided to hold onto my temper - I told the seller to let me know if it fell through.

Same here except I told the seller that I had already bought my plane ticket. He agreed that since I was serious and already purchased the plane ticket he would hold it for me (he was going to sell it for $6000.00) I got it for $5500.00. He picked me up at the Hotel the next morning where I was staying and in less than 30 minutes I was driving "Katherine" back to Colorado...
