Ok- Heres the deal, I see HP Coilovers on Ebay (http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/ebayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=1816975066&r=0&t=0) and decide, what the heck. Why not. I didnt want to drop my car much anyhow. So I order these and they arrive in the mail. I notice they are made for the Accord. 91-97. I email him and ask whether I got the same ones. I said:

Then he writes back this:

Then I wrote this:

Ok-
Unfortunately the auction was for Acura Legend
coilovers, and not a honda accord. That was extremely
misleading. Nowhere in the auction did it state that
they were just accord coilovers that happen to fit a
Legend. If HP Racing does not actually make specific
coilovers for my car, then I would like a price on a
set of H&R or Eibachs for my car, so I can possibly
trade up. If that is not an option, I will need to
return these as is it not the auction item that I bid
on and purchased.
Thanks!
-Ryan

AND HE WRITE THIS:

ok I didn't mislead anyone. I stated that it fits acura legend and the auction was for the legend. If you don't beleive me, call the acura dealer and honda dealer and ask whats the spring rate for both car is and I can bet you that its the same. Why? because I called and ask them already and the only different between the two is the body style and engine. The accord coilovers or springs, it fits on the honda prelude, honda crv, acura legend, and acura CL also. All I can say is if you was to get H&R springs, eibach, skunk2, or any other springs for that matter, its going to be the same as the accord. I been selling these for over a year now and I know they all the same. Like the chevy cavalier and pontiac sunfire, both different car, but uses the same suspension setup. Both came from GM. If you was to go out and buy another coilovers or spring from some other company for your car, 99.9% your getting the accord springs. Thanks and if you still want a refund, just send them back and I'll refund your money.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------

I think he is a complete retard and can expect bad feedback when I get my refund. BUT someone with car knowledge give me facts that if I buy a set of Eibachs, they ARENT for the accord... Or the CRV.... And that I will have probably have a bad ride if I install a set not made for the car....

Grrrr
Had to vent. At least he let me return them
Thanks!

why don't you just call Eibach and ask them for the part numbers and spring rates for both cars?

Yes he is right, but WRONG at the same time.:D
Yes most companys that make "coils" for our cars do use the same set up for cars listed above. Weapon-r, VIS, Drop Zone, etc..., but I can tell you FIRST HAND that this is a BAG OF CRAP!!!
I bought the WR coils for my car when they first came out and was I pissed when I installed them. THEY are NOT the same spring rating and they do not fit well at all, you hear a "CLUNK"ing noise when you go over bumps because the boot is not the same. THEY made the ride feel F***ing Crap and I drove my car for about 7miles and ripped them back off. They buttomed out on bumps I could not even see on the road. I gave them to a friend that has an accord and he is even using factory struts and they feel 10x's better than in my car and I only lowered it about 1 inch and he has his down about 3 inches.

Ground Control uses totally different spring rates and even the legend coil sleeve is longer than the accord one by about 1/2inch.
H&R also make different springs for the cars. I installed H&R's on my legend and I also did a set for my friends Prelude and the springs on the legend have LESS space than those of the lude's and the legend is about 1 inch LONGER than the lude.

if you are looking for the coil type then go with the GROUND CONTROLS (my car is now dropped 2.5 inches in the front and 2 in the back with koni sturts TODAY with 15's) and the ride is just like STOCK
If you want springs then go with the H&R's because they look very good and ride comfort is AMAZING (only switched from H&R's to GC's because I drive my car in the Winter, but I have to say that it was a big mistake to let go of my h&r's)

GOOD LUCK

Sorry dude, but he is abso-foching-lutely right....the springs werent something honda cared too much for ....remember honda likes to use the same parts for everything....basically, the springs you have are interchangeable......but if youre not happy he DID say that he would give you a full refund!!!...anyways stay away from skunkz and ground control and eibach too unlss youre getting full race versions...the street versions of these 3 types sag like a 80 year old's tits...anyways, you'd be surprised but most common name springs are made at the same factory but just diff names are stamped on......me ....I have RSR springs dropped 1.5 inches...theyve held up for 4 months on my bro's legend and ive just got them on mine now...my bro didnt even need a camber kit for them

who cares?

he said he'll give you a refund. Do it, leave his feedback alone, and walk away from it like it never happened.

next time check the manufacturer for Legend specific springs.

if the guy didnt want to send you your money back it would be a differnt story, however theres not much you can do with a misleading auction, i know i was just a victim too, and had to resell the item

I care. As an ebay seller, I would never sell something as it wasnt. I am going to sell an old radio shack subwoofer. Even though the actualy speaker is a pioneer, I am NOT going to have an acution for a pioneer subwoofer.

Case in point, the auction was for a set of Acura legend coilovers. Not Honda accord. It is the sellers place to sell the right ones. If someone had left feedback about him selling HP's for the accord as Legend ones, this whole thing could've been avoided and I could have a REAL set for my car installed by now. I am going to be that buyer, so no else has to waste thier time.

I would have been fine if he wasnt an ass about it. Just tell me that they fit and are not car specific. Since he allowed me a refund that would have gotten positive feedback. But he had to talk like I was some friggin idiot and was all wrong. Well he can kiss ass and when hes done look at the negative feedback I left him.

I remember this topic coming up before. HP coilovers for legend on ebay. Most of us, just went to the HP website and saw for ourselves that HP didn't make Legend coilovers and we left it at that and didnt bid on them. I don't recomend using coilovers from other cars because most of the time, the coil sleeves don't fit right. Stock Legend shocks are freakin huge in diameter and have a ring on the top where the sleeves from accords/preludes dont usually fit over. Koni's are a different story. lil smaller i believe.

There is a significant vehicle weight difference between the Legend and the Accord or Prelude. This, logically, would indicate that the spring rates are different. The last time I bought Asian springs the dealer's part book indicated springs by model broken down by front/rear and left/right. The springs themselves are color-banded to indicate correct application. There is no info sheet indicating specific spring rates.

I dont have anything personal against eibach or ground control. Remember they are in essence the same company. It's just that Ive seen a friend with a 4 door integra, a 95 prelude, a 98 prelude and a 95 accord all say that their eibach street springs(AKA lowering, not race springs) sagged after a few months....even with adjustable koni's , my friends integra's back end looks like he has 4 dead bodies in the trunk......hmm...now that i mention it, I wouldnt put it past him ......

I know you mad, but theres nothing you can do. - feedback will just cause you -feedback too. ebay, paypal they have nothing for misleading auctions.

i bought a supposed zex bottle opener that was NEW and would fit any "bottle brands out there"
turns out i got a used demo display that wouldnt fit my NOS bottle.
he wouldnt take it back and ebay nor paypal would do anything because it wasent that big of a deal. i ended up selling it on my own and giving him -feedback.
now i have -feedback my first one in 3 years.

What have i accomplished?

If I remember correctly the ONLY Accord springs that are interchangeable are the 95-97 V6 (5th Gen) and the 1Gen Legends. Both cars weigh about the same.

dre, coilovers and regular drop springs are way different. coilovers are a bit stiffer and why they ride so harsh. drop springs do tend to sag after awhile, especially those race springs that drop certain cars over 2". But after selling coilovers for over 2years, I havent seen any sagging, and if they do sag, you just raise em. ahahaha ie..ground controls.

The seller may have sold you something that is labelled for the Accord, but it is not going to be much of a different in terms of performance and ride quality.

For coil overs, they are pretty much the same. Ground Control has same spring perches for most applicatoins.
