I am scared right now because yesterday my SRS light came on and stayed on. No every time I start my car it comes on and stays on why!?!?I don't know if this matters but I seen it flash once while I was driving out of the corner of my eye. I thought I was seeing things but about 30 minutes later I seen it flickering very rapidly off and on with no pattern. It know stays on as soon as I start the car? What the fuh!?!?Anyone know anything about this?!?! I'm just scared that (knocking on wood..."knock, "knock") if I were to hit a semi:rolleyes: that the air bags woudn't work:eek:or if I were to hit an ant that my air bags would deploy in my face!! I'm scared if the air bags are temperoly deactivated for what ever reason I could deal with that I just wouldn't like the idea of knowing I'm driving around with an "air bag time bomb" ready to detonate!!!!!

Damm bro,

It could be a bad SRS sensor. I had this happen to my 97 Accord. I had to get it replace for like $600, $400 for parts and the rest labor. Not sure what Acura dealers will charge, sure it's going to be more then the Honda.
I would let the dealer take care of this, if anything goes wrong down the road you will have someone to sue if it does not deploy.

Plus, I have heard that static electricity can accidentally deploy the airbags, so let a professional deal with it, if not you'll be screwed even worst, new Airbags and a new sensor-$$$$$$$$$$$:( :(

Absolutely only take it to a dealer or approved Honda Acura shop. Before working on the system there is a connection that has to be made to render the system safe. Remember air bags deploy by using small EXPLOSIVE charges.

I agree, take it to a dealer. My light came on right ofter I got mine. I took it to the dealer and the hooker their computer up to it to find out what was wrong. Come to find out it just needed to be reset and it cost me like $35.00 for it.

CHILLLLLL

ok before you take it to somebody( dealer) who charges the heck out of you for doing something, look right under your steering wheel, you should have a little connecter box which holds wiires for all steering wheel controls. If you are a tall person like me or move your legs just move around a lot while driving you might just have pulled it out...look under and u will see a loose wire just plug it back in..!

it happ to me on a trip and all my **** stopped working...first srs, then wheel controls, horn, cruise ...everything a mechanic in a unknown area tried to tell me it will cost 200 hundreds dollars to fix ...i came back and my trusted people just popped the wires back in and showed me what the issue was..and if IT is a SRS issue, you better go to the dealer.

hope this helps.

Ditto on the previous post, sometimes big feet pull the connector loose...happened to my son too. There is a connector that run along the steering column at the bottom (7P) that can get pulled if someones toe catches the wires underneath. The cable reel assembly connects here and a fault in it will illuminate the SRS and you may lose the other steering column controls as well. Dealers have been known to replace the Cable Reel Assembly and charge you about $600 when it is a loose connector, so check it out.....just to be fair, Acura did have a problem with the early cable reel assemblies in 91 and and had a TSB on it....the result in an accident would be the same, the airbag would likely not deploy, so give it a look see.....

I would take it to a pro, but not the dealership. I would take it to Honnda/Accurate specialists in Littleton or Pro Auto Care in Thornton (Acura specialist). If you can, I would recommend the place in Littleton since they have great prices and service and offer a loaner car.
