The rev limiter should be around 7200rpm. You have to remember though, tach's are never really accurate around those speeds. So just because your needle says 7200rpms...in reality its around 6800 or so.

I have a TypeII 6-spd with the stage II chip, intake and exhaust. A few weeks back, I had it reving at 7200rpm in fourth gear, and it was still climbing. I was just making sure the chip was doing it's job. I really don't think I'll take it that high again, cause these engines produce their peak HP around 6000rpm? Am I right? So there is really no need to rev it that high anyway.

when i go im in first gear. if you turn and gun it the comp will notice the lack in speed and the rise in engine rpm and wont shift for some reason. and i can just see teh needle sky rocket then plumet down into the redzone...and not stop diving.

sometimes i'll have it in 1 when i take off, if you notice the legend takes off in second gear if accelerated lightly, shift when moving fast at about redline but the car holds onto First. you can shift without hurting anything since it says that you can shift the car as though it were a manual if so inclined in the Owner's Manual.

B&O DK, It says you can do that, but it's really not good for it.

It's like saying "You dont have to wash your car". But what happens if you dont wash it, it gets messed up.:p

The only gears that I shift is between D3 and D4, and that's only if i need to come a stop VERY quickly or I am just crusing around town.

Going from 1 -> 2 -> D3 -> D4 isn't good for your tranny :)

New Acura Tranny = ~3800 bucks. :(

have auto, want manual

yep, I also shift btw d3 and d4 a lot, its not supposed to be bad for the tranny, although shifting down to 2nd is. Also, engine braking isn't flash for the tranny, so try to rev match when you downshift to d3 (s3 in the G1).

i hat getting off topic but i just want to point out to you that shifting gears is not going to hurt the trans. if you recall on the old boards we had a discussion about this and engineer back me up saying somthing to the effect of "a trans job is to shift. its going to shift. be it by the computer or by manual control its going to shift. shifting the trans manually will not hurt it."

But the topic was the limiter and i found that does anybody else have a lower or higher limiter with the Stage II chip.
