Wow, thanks for all the quick responses. It looks like I may try and do this, the new steering wheel doesnt have an airbag, so I will be using the old one.

In the service manual, it says to use new torx bolts. Do I need to use new ones and I assume I can get them from the dealer??

Yes. It's 2x T30. Usually you need new ones. Presupposed they are kinda worn out. If it's your first swap ever, you really don't need new ones. -Mike

Also, where is the short connector located?

This one is under the steering wheel behind the lid, what is held with 2 small screws. After removing you can see the red short connector. Pics ? -Mike
