Stereo making weird noise.

I am in the process of buying an L Sedan w/bose... the problem with the stereo is, every time it is turned on, the two rear speakers just start screaming this loud noise like some wires are touching, doesn't matter if the volume is all the way down or not. The radio doesn't get any reception because of this. Any ideas or has anyone had this problem before?

sounds like you have got a grounding some where. you will need to take things out to investigate. could be anywhere. but i'll start with the deck. had a similar problem with my G1 and it was the deck. good luck.

yea sounds like ground wire. But it could also be a bad amp. Had the same problem with my car with an aftermarket rockford fosgate amp. sounded terrible, bought a new amp sounds awesome now.

since you mentioned that the car was a L model i am assuming it does not have the bose amp? if it is only the rear speakers then you probably have a bad plug or adapter on your head unit. wherever the rear speakers are getting their power from trace that and you will most likely find the source of your problem which is probably the head unit. good luck

Thanx guys... I'll rip the deck out soon and check it out... I will likely end up replacing the deck from what it sounds like.
