got it installed by me and my friend

got a cheap pepboys package
but it sounds good
heres some pics/a video

Since i have a stock radio, the switch to turn the amp on/off is installed down under bottom left. when i turn the radio off, but not the switch the sub makes a constant note so I dont forget

It's a start...

I feel ya for not dropping big bucks the first time: gotta learn what you need and what's overkill.

I dropped a lot on my first build and the sub is total overkill... I like it though :)

yea .. get a new deck too :p the sexy alpine 7" indash dvd ouuuu weeee...

yea get a better setup :p pretty ghetto having to use a switch for the amp :p

get jl's ! .. i got two tens in my trunk.. i think they are w series.. forget which number... i wish they were w7's... n e ways .. the subs are powerfull enough to shake the snow off my car .. hahaha

you need to connect the remote turn on lead of the amp to a switched 12v source on the radio.

the radio has a 12v source (battery power, this is its memory and main power source)

and it also has a 12v switched source from the ignition when the key is in.
run a relay and use that as a switching source.

its the yellow/red wire on the oem radio harness.

i have two kicker cvr 15's and an under powered amp pushing them and i think its way overkill. not only on the loudness but i have nooo trunk at all. id love a new setup with one 15 put way in the back with a grill covering it so i could use my trunk again..

Two diamond 12s in the trunk with plenty of room :D

Its better to go with some cheap stuff first, so you know if bass is really right for you. For some, they end up not liking the bass, for most, they love it and end up spending too much on it all.

Definitely one of my favorite setups.

I roll with a single JL 12W3v2 in a 1cu ft sealed enclosure and about 350W running to the sub and it's a lot of umph.

I really need to invest in better interior gear at some point: the sub is plenty powerful but I could use some better separation up front and of course, more power.

haha
i expected those reaction

for the person who asked

they're 10s

they are cheap ones
but they sound decent
and i wanted something to start off with
to see what I like
My friend has JL and he loves it, but to me its way overkill

I would like in dash dvd, but I dont see ones i like that are less than say $350-400
i would really prefer the in dash(not flip up ones)

And the switch wasnt my idea, it was my friends
but I like it because I dont always want bass, like if I'm listening to music that really doesnt sound good with bass.

i got a kill switch for my amp just in case a cop is near by and it really helps lol. am i gonna have to show my setup lol

looking through eBay dvd in dash

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/838-...OR-RDS-DVD-MP4-PLAYER_W0QQitemZ290199492042QQcmdZViewItem?hash=item290199492042

realize its no name brand, but its kinda cool
the bid will go up
but is it worth it or not worth the chance of it failing
it has a lot of features, and according to the menu it has gps
which would be sick with a TV tuner, sd card reader, and dvd, mp3 and more
just realize, it wont be up to the standards of name brand units.

that doesn't look half bad, but i don't know about durability.

yea..like ^ said..pictures wont look anywhere near as clear as a clarion, jvc, etc..if u want good sh*t..u just have to pay for it..its better to just save up and buy something thats worth it man..
what do the good brands run for?
ive seen some for like 400 and ive seen some for like 1200

anything thats decent, but not too expensive either?

kinda like a panasonic, good, but not quite as good as the sony
(not necessarily true, just an example)
