Sub Installed Finally

If there is a plus for stock head unit that would be it, but ask yourself...do you really want your car to sound like you have a trunk full of cans whenever you turn your volume up? I have my box ported through a custom baffle on the rear deck so that the bass flows through the cab. So with the windows up and the volume up the car bangs but doesnt rattle. With the windows down you can hear me down the block 'Beat'n Pictures off your wall'. Rather its Blink 182 or Dipset, and people are surprised by the setup only being 3 10's...trust me. Its about the setup not the biggest speakers you can fit in your trunk.

Photoshop gets me everytime..looks nice though.

I know that feeling. I purchased the box at a radio shop and was terrified i wasted my money cause i couldn't get the damn thing in the trunk for a good 5 minutes. you probably have more space than me cause i bought the slant face box:lol:

Don't mind the horrible trunk condition... I took the carpeting out because my friend and i were SUPPOSED to make a custom trunk setup...but he flaked on me at the last minute (he had the tools) and so i just said "f*ck it" on putting it back in. i still have that carpeting somewhere in my house :lol:

I think the sound ended up being more amplified in the car than it was outside the car with it upside down. it kinda like made the bass way more pronounced inside the car than outside. which is why it could beat like crazy and you could hear it 3 blocks away with the windows open, but standing infront of the trunk it was "eh" standing outside the door would have your pants shaking and trembling..

To be quite honest though, aside from all that...that was the first way i was able to get it in the car:lol:, so i everytime i put it in, i just put it in that way.

I'll tell you who had the best setup...

Fut

Fut's setup is the ultimate 15 in my humble opinion...even though it's more for SQ than SPL, his is perfect. Perfectly tuned too so it's not just willy nilly!

Yeah that is sweet. The full use of trunk was my main focus...got chiren' ya know. Got to put them toys somewhere. yeah mine was about 420 (no Pun intended Wyatt). That was including the speakers (subs), custom install including deck molding the rear roof wing and installed my remote start with keyless entry. I couldnt go wrong, but I have to say my cousin hooked me up since he rolls all old school with 'Las Ayates' they have killer body shops, installers and paint men. When I told him how simple I wanted it he laughed and almost didnt take my business, then he said that it wouldnt take him but 2 days to do it all. He didnt charge me much because I have seen what they do and for my setup it was childs play to him.

sergio has a nice setup when i saw it at the meet, but too bad we couldn't hear it cause someone broke into his car and stole the stereo.

Are those Free air subs, is that what you call them? (when they arent in a box) or are then screwed to some kind of box?

Not to veer too far off topic but now that I think of it, I think Fut's setup is technically a free air because his trunk isn't 100% sealed/isolated from the cabin.

At least, I thought it was Fut who had a large port in the rear deck...
