What's everyones though on the Ford SVT Contour? I know it's Ford's attempt to try and come back at the mid size touring sedans, but i think it looks pretty good.

Please post information and opinions about the car, alsso if anyone can find quarter mile imes id appreciate it

I hear they are awesome cars power/performance, but they look a little to domestic for me, like puting a kit on a 4door escort, no thank you I'll pass to many other cars out there I'd much rather have.

A 1998 Coutour SVT (tested in March 97 C&D) has
0-60 = 7.1 sec
1/4mi = 15.4 @91mph

A 1999 Contour SVT (tested in April 99 C&D) has
0-60 = 6.9
1/4 = 15.4 @91mph

they are great cars, especially for the money! A contour is the ONLY car to ever come close to keeping up to me in my Maxima. That is my only experience with them.

I drove a few of the first ones off the line when I worked at Montrose Ford, They handle great and the power is acceptable. They're a good all around car (for a Ford), and the wheels just set the car off.

Personally I hate Fords, because the last 6 Transmissions my shop has replaced have been Fords,
