what would i be up against? say i have a coupe type I auto, and found a type II engine together w/ 6spd. tranny. how much modification would be invovled, i mean i know i have to get a clutch pedal into the cockpit n stuff like that.
need some advice quick.

Man, I was wondering in the same thing, 'cept I got a sedan, and want to do a engine swap. Where'd you find you engine, if you don't mind me asking. (if you've found one)

Engine swap is doable - some guys on this forum have done it.

As for the transmission, it seems to be the general concensus on this forum that its too difficult and costly to swap an auto in favour of a manual. Basically, if you want a 6speed, sell your car and buy one with a manual.

Perhaps some of the guys with more info/experience can reply to this post and elaborate a bit.....

I had read other people talked about swapped their engine from type I to type II, they said it demand lot of works, and they even suugest if anyone of us want to do the same. They said trade is recommanded. Am curious, how much type II engine with tranny that u found?

i havnt got nothin yet, but have access to them, and yes i know some guys have done the engine swap like Leon, but i want to know if anybody has done the auto to manual swap, or how difficult it would be.

Maybe DV8 or Leon could shed some light on this topic?
