The 94-95 Legends have a power tilt/telescoping steering wheel that coincides with the memory seat functions....i.e when you push memory 1 it goes to the postition that driver 1 set for the seat and the steering wheel....very neato.

My RL et the mirrors too, not sure if the Legend does that?!

Come to think of it I have a Q. I have the Telescopic steering thats not electric, it has the lever, but I can't get the steering wheel to move up or down, it only moves in and out... like out towards me and back down, how can I make it move up and down?
91-93, the wheel telescopes manually...but does not tilt.

nah...somebody here already tried it when he was doin his GS conversion, and said nothing would fit right. Forgot who it was tho...
That was me :). The entire steering wheel column would bolt up to the main support beam, but no electrical harness's would ever line up.
The telescoping steeringing wheel has a module that remebers how you want your steering wheel when you enter the car. Hooking all that up, rewiring all the electrical would take significant time.
Also I have a strong feeling the joint at the end of the steering column that connects to the steering (where it heads under the car) would have to be greatly modified to fit correctly.
Keep in miind you'll have to:
Remove dashboard
Different Clock spring (to keep it OEM)
The plastic parts that cover the telescoping steering wheel
Ignition to engage the memory of your original tilt
memory box located behind the main support beam
re-wiring
lots of time
other things I can't remember

Thanks for the info. This car keeps getting cooler :D
what if

What if you had a totaled 94 95 can't you just remove the whole dash and put it in the 91-93 wouldn't the harness in the 95-95 fit with a whole new dash or do you need to rewire the engine ecu ect.

key compantants you'll need for the retrofit, entire column. Column support beam (its the part that runs under the dash and holds it up and its what the column).

You can just wire up the motors directly to the switch with a couple of relays. U'll loose the memory features and the feature were it moves in when u put the key in/out. else you have to get the module from behind the back seat and rewiring EVERYTHING because the modules are different.

also u'll need the lower dash panel under the steering column.
i hadit in my 90 q45 i think they were the first ones to have that
i got a quick question bout the telescopic wheel on my 95' Legend coupe(type II).when i take tha key out it beaps about 10 times and adjusts in and up like its supposed to. then when i insert the key it doesnt memory adjust like its supposed to. Ever heard of any of these problems?

sounds like a common problm, i think the quick fix for this problem is resetting the system, unplug both terminals from the battery for 5min, just remember that you will NEED the radio code
thanks for tha info

Ok cool, i'll try that. i just hate losing my sound settings on my pioneer Cd player.but if it fixes tha problem its worth it.
I think they were talking about the automatic tilt feature, which tilts the steering wheel up automatically when you insert the key, tilts down when you remove it.

I think you expressed its tilt function backward: remove the key tilts up to get out, insert the key tilts down to drive.
