since i got my legend back in june, the part that holds the hood open on its own is broken, the hood just slams shut again. any idea what i would need to fix it or replace it? it's just a big annoyance really to have to find something to prop it open with.

Easy Fix

it's an easy fix. Just go to your local auto parts store and ask for hood supports for your year legend. I had the same problem and after replacing the old ones everything was fine.

To clarify, they are actually gas struts. They should run about $20 for a pair. Takes about 20 min to change them. Very straightforward. Gluck.

This is what I use to do. Carry a stick in ur trunk and use it as support.

When I took it to an acura specialist, he was working on my car and I told him about that. He took a hammer and hit the bars on the sides, causing it to slightly bend.

They have been working great since then.

try it, but be careful. Dont slam too much or u might bend too far.

Just open the hood up and pull them towards the outside of the car. They will bend slightly and then they'll stay open. It works just as good as new struts. :D
