The other thread was not very active so this is a new one to get more response. Headers can be done with dyno or track results.
The cost will be apx.$500-10people or less, $400 or less for 20 people and more than that maybe 300 ish. No promises yet, but if some one can save me the time and money of driving to Denver for exhaust manifolds I will cut the cost of your headers. DV8- you have first dibs. I know you have the precious. PM me for my address. I could use my car as the labrat but I would rather have it running for the time being.

thanks guys for your support!
kyle :)

Post below on how definite you are on buying so we can get the best rates. I need to give this man the bus. for his hookup!

Manifolds for turbo coming along nicely....
Pain in the ass...yes
expensive.....no
all this hard work.....priceless-unless you can put a price on a little toe.

Updates soon-maybe found a way to get mass produced bent pipes and flanges. THis could happen. I am still hard at work on this on weekends.

Reading this thread has been more like a drama...though I'm kinda confused as to the ending...everything seemed to be going along fine but..as I understand now...we're not getting a kit? or they're planning on perfecting your setup before making anything? or are turbo anxious legend owners screwed?!?!?! I suppose reading would do nicely but i just went through the 46 pages ( briefly) ...oh wait I'm just now fully comprehending what was written above...damn...

Kyle i think its about time we give thanks for you working your a$$ of making this what a turbo kit should be.

I have a couple old pics of your setup, but i think it would be sweet to mount the turbo where the old airbox is then run the intercooler piping throught the hole where the airpipe went to the factory cold air box.....but i am sure you have done nicely. I heard there aren't many places that bend that kind of piping...is that true??

If you need any help...don't be afraid to ask the guys here, we got your back on this.

do or do not...there is no try.

Not to rain on everyones parade but those are a fancier version of stock manifolds. Again i applaud the efforts and im sure you will get more hp than the previous turbo 227WHP... but, if i made headers with 3 individual 1.5 diameter tubes why can't anyone else? Someone mocked me because they thought my headers were too small in diamter especially for a turbo, this manifold has a steel wall for exhaust to bounce into, not to mention gasses from the other ports.

I really dont get it.

i noticed this too, but i thought it was me...

but hey anything is something i guess....

My biggest question is:

It looks like you're going to route the piping just like last time. Since you made custom (although they look almost as restrictive as before) manifolds at least do it the most efficient way possible.

PS: Not that I can do any better, but those welds look like a two year old did them. I think you might just want to aim for a true efficient kit that isn't a chop job. That was your problem last time. Do it Right Kyle.

Exactly, with the money you've spent on doing it half-assed twice you could have done it once right and had a great setup. Don't even worry about price for selling, only what your budget holds to make it. You could either sell the design or make more yourself. The copies of kits will always take less effort and money.

Ummm, is it just me or ummmm, does that look like a legend and a C block to anybody else here???? :eek2:

If it is i could crap my pants.

If you look at cars like the MKIV Toyota Supra Turbo, the exhaust manifolds on that thing are log-style just like ours. My friend is running BPU++ with those some stock manifolds running upwards of 420hp on log manifolds! This shows that you don't need any fancy exhaust manifold design to pressurize a turbo.

I know more than you think, there is one vortec one that doesn't run, there it the one legendtoo is working on, ....blah blah. Anyways that is twin turboed and looks like someone spent a lot of $$$$ on it and did it right.

:D

yea...TJ Miles has the supercharged 6spd converted coupe. specualtion says that the ECU just shat itself with the positive boost and went to sleep on the car so it was't making any power...another spec says it was just mounted wrong...who knows.

Also, I think Mark gave up on trying to do anything with the Legend.

and yea Gary D, he had a bunch of money into that turbo setup but the shop that was doing it folded. so he's been working on trying to get it done...i need to try and contact him to see what's the haps on it.

EDIT:

and just to make sure, there's no hates or anything to labrats or anything, he's gone and turboed it so that deseres some recognition:bowdown:

Yeah i would love to see where that twin turbo is in its completion...or what not. If he wants to sell etc. It was beautiful though in its setup. He might just need an autotronic.

oh Gsteg, i though you were running alchol with a side of propane injection...dang.

IS our ECU messing up with boost or air/fuel....'cause comptech makes a sensor to trick our ECU into thinking there is no boost. I think it is used on TL and CL??

Yes, you're correct. Competch does have a MAP sensor that tricks the ECU.
Didn't Kyle use a similar sensor?
