Wow sooooo many pages.. alright im new here but lately ive been thinking of selling my lude (next year) and getting a legend simply because theyre so badass and one of my favorite (affordable) cars. I was hoping to go all out with the engine on this one as i have an automatic lude and its not really worth dumping money into a 15 years old engine. Now.. is their actually some people that turbo'd their 2nd gen legend? I see people talk about it a lot but havent actually seen any pics. Would it be easier to go twin turbo or jus single turbo? How much room would u have for a single turbo?? Ohh and how much do the turbo mani's go for (someone must make em right)? I'm guessing a lot so im probably jus gonna make my own.

Hey guys! Whats up? The kit is not a kit. Joule and I talked and there is not going to be a replication of this "kit". I am working to get actual manifolds made-flanges(headers & turbo) for a more tunned setup. They can make it for your car if you take it to them. I am having problems with piping and some other things, but they should be resolved soon. If you go with everything I have without getting any deals you will easily spend over 4K if not closer to 5k. There are pics of the car a few pages back.

Peace

Are they at least going to sell the manifolds by themselve? That would make it much easier to start building a setup for a 3.2 TL, thinking about starting this. I can't beleive they aren't going to make a kit though, I'm sure there are enough people that would actually shell out for it that they would be able to make money off of it... I still gotta give you mad props man, I'm hoping to be the first one to do this to a 1st gen TL. ;)

damn 4-5k is kinda steep for a turbo setup.. if i get a legend next year im gonna rebuild the motor then look into a turbo. I know its not something to joke around with but i know what im doing. Why didnt u do most of the work anyways? If it were me i would have done almost everything.. woulda saved sooo much money!

My suggestion to you is get a 1993-1996 Prelude VTEC.

They are FASTER stock, much MORE modifiable, and the 94+ Preludes have better dash gauges than a Legend. Also, Preludes have typical Honda reliability.

Read around this thread and you'll find how this turbo Legend is really not powerful at all, and is having boost problems. As I stated before (na na na I told you so...ok, just kidding :p ) running a turbo so far from the motor creates massive boost lag. Overall, DV8's Legend is much faster compared to this one and only turbo Legend example. Read the entire thread.....

I would strongly recommend staying away from a Legend if you have inflated dreams of performance. I love Legends, but no one can convince me that the "uniqueness" of a modified, but lesser performing Legend is better than other cars. Get a car that can be made fast.......

I want a car that can be unique.. thats the problem.. i hate 4th gens and their dashes are ugly as hell. Plus theirs way too many 4th gens around here.. its unbefreakinalabalble whatever. Anyways i still want a legend even if its not gonna be tinkered with (still will be). The reason i got my3rdgen lude was because i rarely saw any anywhere.. now i want something else with more potential and more uniqueness (for my area.. dunno how many their are in ur areas) but yea.. i also did read the whole thread.. well maybe skipping a couple pages

Well, yes I think I should have made it myself, but I wanted a car that ran flawlessly. I didnt necessarily get that, and it really isnt done so I guess I cant expect that. I am going back through the system by myself when I have the time after work on evenings. I did get pretty good prices on most parts from a friend and Joule. As far as manifolds go, all I have is the stock ones that go from the stock manifolds back into a reg. pipe then turn 180 deg. I am working on those, and that will be the closest to tuned manifolds we will get until some one else does it differently.

Until Later-K

I've been away from the forums for quite some time now and just read through this thread. Wow, props to Kyle and everyone else that supported him along the way. Even though there are still a number of bugs to work out this is a major step in the right direction for Legends :) AWesome job guys!!!!!!!

So who knows where Joule tapped the oil drain for the turbo? i know the oil feed comes from the oil pressure sending unit but the drain? Could he really of drilled and tapped the oil pan? Please answer.

Comptech makes a fitting for their S2000 supercharger kit that threads into the oil pan in place of the drainplug. The other end of the fitting is threaded so the return line from the supercharger can be attached easily. The S2K has an aluminum oil pan like the legend, I would imagine it could be made to work on a legend as well.

thats neat, but how does the oil push through if its at the bottom of the pan where oil is presesnt? pressure i guess?

DV8, what side do you need pics of? I will try to take some while the rad. is out.

Peace, K
bottom of the turbo should have a line going somewhere to the oil pan. whereever the line goes i want to know. i know the top line goes to the oil pressure sending unit hole in the middle of the block.

What diameter pipes were used for your exhaust downpipe and the turbo exhaust off the turbo?

I still need to take pics of the oil lines, but the diameter for the downpipe is 2.5. I have a seperate 2-1 y configuration I do not know the diameter though...I will try and measure when I put in the new rad. this weekend.

so what youre saying is that the two pipes coming off the exhaust manifold that wrap around torwards the front of the car, are both 2.5 in. in diameter? sounds too big.

then the two pipes collect in to a Y and up into the turbo exhaust inlet. right?

Now how about the diameter of the turbo exhuast outlet pipe? 2.5?

Thanks

Sorry! The 2.5 is ex. size on the ex. side of the turbo. The 2 small pipes are something like 1 5/8. BTW I am thinking about selling my piping and intercooler if some one wants it. I couldnt get a camera for those pics-the rad. is back in though. The car runs much better. Turns out that a pressurized pipe had fallen out or something before the tb and I had no boost- no wonder it felt slow. I tightened up all the clamps and that helped to!

Peace K

wow 1 5/8? thats small, i believe that close to the stock size down pipe. I'm surprized that you still have/had lag. so thats the biggest diameter you could fit around the sides of the engine? How big is the exhaust port going into the turbo?
