Can't say specific to Legend, but I did this years ago on a '78 Accord. I left in whatever the belt ran around [compressor?] so that no mod of belt and routing was needed. No problems -- ran it like that for about 8 months before it blew a head gasket, and I sold it to a mechanic for $200 and a ride home.

New compressors can be found for around $200-250

Contact 90Acura149k he's selling a allmost new compressor.

Make him an offer.

Trust me, taking all that **** out will only give you 30-35lbs at the most.

You wont see a difference, its not worth it.

No you dont have to.

You can just remove the compressor.

But you WILL have to have the system EVAC'd to get the old R12 out, be very carefull as R12 is dangerous to deal with.

Why dont you just remove the A/C Belt and leave the system alone?
