i recently found out that the tires that were put on my rims have a very small sidewall 225 40 17 discount tire put these on my rims and i never specified what tire size to use should they have know these were to small ?? i want to go back there and talk to them to see if anyting can be done it has almost been a month sense i got them. what size would be the right(same as stock overall) size 225 50 17??

50 sounds good... but i doubt the shop will let u just exchange tires after a month...

Roger, I did some calculations for you

your stock GS tires size are 215/55/16 which would give you a overall diameter of 25.31 inches.

When I saw your tires today, I thought they were 215/40/17.
If they are 225/40/17, overall diameter would be 24.09 inches. Which would make your tires 1 inch smaller than stock.

if they were 215/40/17, then the overall diameter would be 23.77 inches. Which would make your tires 2 inches smaller than stock.

I say go with 215/50/17 that'll give you 25.46 inches overall, fairly close to stock. Or 225/45/17, that'll give you 24.97 also very close.

I'm glad I read this post!!!! I was just about to order those rims and some tires. So what size tire should I put on these rims (Voxx-Argus) and also do I have to worry about scraping with these rims?
