You've pegged yours out at 160? Wow. That's pure insanity.
You need to come down here to Lousyana. There's a road about 30 minutes out of town with a little over 9 miles of dead straightaway with no side roads to contend with of anything. Perfect for top speed runs. A Mig could top out on that road.

Nick has a TypeI I think, that speedometer goes up to 140. So he was probably going 150+ or so. Like I said, this thread has been done...

my brother hit 116 on the first day he baught it, i was shocked it went that fast bc at that time the head gaskets were in horrible shape. its one smoooooooooooooooth bia when its over 0 mph lol

Not to call you guys liars or anything, but 150 with a type I sounds pretty high, I mean, an RX-7 twin turbo only pushes 163 or something. That car's hp/weight ratio is much better than ours. It just seems a little outrageous. However having never pushed my car past 130, I really wouldn't know... it would seem that it would take a long time to reach that speed however. Just my 2 cents....
hm.. i have a 92 legend LS dont know what type of engine it is.(type 1 or 2) but i have pushed around 120-130..... dont really know if i have stomp it pedal to the metal but it felt like i did. and Wow 150 + isnt that over the speedometer? i'm running on stock only added an intake. DID he/she added nething to reach that high?

And a 285 hp 6speed BMW 540i without it's limiter can top out at 184 mph, only 55 more hp than a Type II and it weighs 300lbs more.LeoLegendATL said:

Ya, it takes a bit to top out at 140 for me. Car is pretty quick, but unless I downshift (auto) and go WAY up in RPMs it can take awhile. I have pinned the speedo at 140 and felt like I was still speeding up, but I can't be too sure. It was VERY squirrely at that speed!
I basically got a stock type-1 auto w/ Weapon-R Dragon intake... Still pretty damn fast for a sedan! My 18 inch Enkeis and Pirellis are actually HEAVIER than my stock wheels were too...
BTW: Do not try this on normal roads! I was on the freeway at about 3:45 AM on my way to Portland and I hadn't seen a car go in either direction for about 20 minutes...
