Some guys on my local board took pics at the local HIN. I didn't bother going.
I purchased it for its looks, not because its a skyline lookalike or what used to be a legend. FWIW, Le is one of the coolest and nicest guys I have ever met. There is a lot that went into this car that went unnoticed here. The ammount of time and knowledge that went into this car in certain area's really amazed me.Curious, did you buy the car for the Legend or for the "Skyline"?
Ill try to remember to get some before I pull the engine out, but its not clean anymore from sitting with the blown engine.Well I am an honorable person so will say I stand corrected and wow! But before you get it all torn apart it would be nice if yo would take some detailed pics of the engine bay.
If you want a proper RWD car, buy a RWD car. And no, FWD does not suck. If you are only into drag racing, then yes it does. These cars are FWD mid-90's luxury cars, what do you expect? If this was the Civic forum, you'd get a bunch of praise. 335mm rear tires on a FWD car? Most people would consider that retarded before considering it "interesting".Undo all what hard work? Removing a turbokit? Not much difference in that vs removing the weak 3.2 engine anyway. For what I want to do with the car, I actually(as did quite a few others before it became "cool" to not like it) enjoy the way the car looks. To each there own, figured you guys would appreciate the car being in the hands of someone who will finally make an affordable option to go RWD, since we all know FWD sucks, period. Going to finally turn this thing into a real sports car with real power and spinning the correct wheels
Not sure what makes a "proper" RWD car?? And yes, FWD does suck. The fact that he got 335 tires to FIT is what makes it intersting, not that its on a FWD car.If you want a proper RWD car, buy a RWD car. And no, FWD does not suck. Good luck with the car, whatever floats your boat. When you get balls deep into it and realize you could have built (another?) BPU supra for the same price, let us know.
So your saying an unmodded type 2 engine, 6 speed trans, diff, all computers and wiring is worth a couple hundred? Ill set the stuff on fire before letting it go that cheap. I know the trans itself is worth that muchPS: If you list the parts for sale and state that they were in a car producing enough power (or lack of tuning) to blow up the motor... I'd say a couple hundred for everything.
Agreed, if you have to ask how to do something its probably not worth it and thanks for wishing me luck.I'd never do a RWD conversion, and my general advice to anyone asking how to do it would be that "if you have to ask, don't bother," but it's not impossible if someones got time, cash, and either skill or more cash.
GL w/ the project.
Wait and see. the drivetrain, and accompanying custom work, in addition to whatever you paid for the car, will most likely cost as much as a BPU supra. And yes, I am happy with FWD in my 200hp luxury sedan. If I only wanted fast, then I wouldn't be driving such a car.Not sure what makes a "proper" RWD car?? And yes, FWD does suck. And your out of your mind if you think a RWD swap will cost even remotly what a BPU supra costs. But I do agree with you, to each there own. Your happy with FWD, I am happy for you
I had someone ask me to hold a sign up in front of the car and take a picture, so yea perhaps I did get an attitude. And be sure to call me out anytime you want, I will not with hold information about something to make a few bucks more not sure why you would even assume that. Not sure why you even think the trans has been through a lot. Its been loaded up on the trailer numerious times and run at the track for 1 and a half runs, but whatever.Wait and see. the drivetrain, and accompanying custom work, in addition to whatever you paid for the car, will most likely cost as much as a BPU supra. And for the motor and parts, after your showing in this thread with the attitude, its going to be slightly more difficult to sell them at a reasonably price. Most can buy the more desirable C35a for $300-$500 for reference. Unless the 6 speed is rebuilt, you're either going to have to withhold information about what it has been through (I'll be there to call you out) or sell it for very cheap.
Point taken, guess I hadnt thought about some here liking that part of the car. I would have never said that, but it seems there are 500 "how do i make my legend rwd" threads so I figured it was a common though here that most wanted to go RWD. I stand corrected and apologize. I guess what I was trying to say was what I am trying to accomplish with the car FWD would not make sense.Coming here and saying "FWD sucks" probably won't make you many friends, you're pretty much saying our cars suck by default. Anyways, if you ever do the RWD conversion post some pics, would be interesting to see it done.
You have to understand that no one knows who you are and the only evidence we have that we can see or believe is camera phone picture.I had someone ask me to hold a sign up in front of the car and take a picture, so yea perhaps I did get an attitude. BTW, my only reason for even signing up to this site was to let people know what had happened to the car. If its going to become a pissing match because some dont like the car I will gladly leave. Im in Va also
hmm... kinda too much fast and furious for me but i still like since its a legend  why not skip RWD and make it AWD?Heres a pic of it still on the trailer, havnt unloaded it yet

Welcome to the forum! While there are "How do I do RWD" threads on here, I do believe the vast majority of us prefer the FWD layout 'as is' integrated into the Legend's design (LSD would have been nice). It would be great if you started a build/progress thread and kept it updated with pictures and relevant descriptions as you went along. While I am personally not a fan of modding one model to 'look like' another (utterly different) model, that car, if it was given it's own unique look instead of being a skyline 'poser' has tremendous potential. And as for the RWD conversion, you seem aware of the cost/effort involved and it would be interesting to see it being done for the sake of being done. There was a belief for a long time that forced induction couldn't practically be implemented on a Legend until the guys in Korea blew that theory out of the water. So GL with your build and looking forward to a progress thread. :thumbsup:Point taken, guess I hadnt thought about some here liking that part of the car. And no, definatly dont think these cars suck, honestly I never even knew they were made. Hell, its a family car that made more power than the foxbody v8 mustang at the time AND with a 6 speed.
Sorry again, I definatly didnt mean any dissrespect towards these cars
