Type 1 to type 2 swap

Hey everyone, newbie from New Zealand, currently swapping type 1 for a type 2 engine in my '94 coupe. Awaiting for my type 2 ecu to arrive as the type 1 doesn't seem to work well, stalling problems when I slow down or turn corners. Hope the ecu 2 makes the difference!
