I have these heads that I pulled from my car, a 1995 LS Coupe, and there is something really weird about them. The cylinder head stamp on the rear of the head is PY3. According to this post the type II is PX9 and i checked with acuraautomotiveparts.org and they also list the head as PX9.
The engine or heads have never been removed and the car has never been in the shop for anything major. I'm the second owner and I personally know the first owner and he will attest to the originality of his car.
The engine had a type II ECU and intake mani. until i sold them and now i'm seeing a type 1 cylinder head that came out of the same friggen car.
My question is, Is it possible to have a PY3 cylinder head cast with Type II cams? Another side note that may be helpful, The car was originally imported from Japan as a special order by the dealership.
I guess another question is, does anyone know what the cylinder head stamp is for a JDM Type II?
