hey guyz, i have questions to ask. when my car's speed goes between
60-70, a vibrating noise starts. i decided to ask u guyz before going to the mechanic. does anyone have any idea why it is making a vibrating noise when it reaches above 60 mph.
thank you

Does it seem to happen more often when accelerating and go away if you let off the gas?

If so, you have a failing CV joint.

yes, that is quite right, it does seems to happen more often when accelerating and goes away when i let off the gas
This is a very common Legend problem: the CVs are notorious for failing and causing intermittent vibrations, particularly at highway speed when on the throttle.

Unless your tires are quite aged or have seen some VERY bumpy road, it's unlikely the belts have snapped, IMO.

i've experienced a failing rear axle bearing and an out of balance wheel... both will have harmonic vibration at certain highway speeds...

but now on my legend i have the same issue at the same speeds due to some bia cuttin me off and me having to bump a curb... leads me to wonder about a bushing or the cv's.

You might've thrown the wheel out of balance or worse, out of round, when hitting the curb?

i also want to share one more thing. when i installed the 3.5, then i noticed that the car noise started to occur. then i installed the full expansion kit. later on, the vibration started to occur more. i spoke to the mechanic and he told me its a new kit and it may go away after a while, but the vibration started to occur more frequently. i bought the kit on ebay.....is the ebay kit okay....l

I went through this recently and cured it with new axles/CV.. This was after engine mounts, tire balance.Be certain that you do not use REBUILT.I went through 2 sets and after arguing with mechanic and parts dept. for 3-4 weeks demanded NAPA OEM or Raxles.com be installed.Runs like new,no vibration..Save yourself some grief and money.
As an old tire guy,you can have the tire shop run a diagnostic on the tire/rim and they will be able to tell you what % of your problem is tire VS rim.
