What is that thing above the rearview mirror and infront of the ceiling lights? One side of it will swing down, but I don't understand what it's purpose is.

I read just finished reading the manual, and it is pictured several times, but it never mentions what it's function is.

That would be the real cool mini sunvisor. That blocks glare from the sun passing from above the rear view mirror.
