not sure what next

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Here goes. I have a 1990 Legend LS. Bought of Ebay with bad auto tranny. When you would shift it in gear it would slip and shift like hell. Fluid was almost black figure that non working shift solenoid burnt it up. Had tranny rebuilt by local college program for dirt cheap($200), but is guarenteed good. So, i am working on the assumption that the tranny is good. After putting the rebuilt tranny in noticed the thing still ran the same. Cleaned out the solenoids as described in these forums. Got the noids to actuate using 12v they click real well. Immediately the car started shifting, but still shifted rough. Cleaned the solenoids two more times, the screens never had any metal fillings and have changed the fliud twice ( used only Honda atf) . My problem now is that when car slowes down for turn and i touch the gas the car has a hard time getting into gear, it revs up real high then slams into gear. TCU is thowing no codes. Have checked the resistance on the nm and nc speed sensor they are o.k. Was wondering if you fellas have any suggestions as to what to do next? Maybe the noids are not working perfect but when they are out of car they seem to actuate well.

Welcome to the forums mykaderules...

Have you check the shift linkage and the throttle cable?? see if there are properly adjusted... it sounds like shifter cable and throttle control cable just needed some adjustment, hope this helps!
adjust the kickdown cable, maybe its too tight, its definitely not too loose
mine was doing that when i slowed down to take certain turns, it was almost allways the same turns. I adjusted the Throttle valve cable and it hasnt done it since.
make sure your tv arm is all the way down when when the accel cable is released. you can push it up and unhook the wire to see its natural resting position. make sure its allways as the resting position but the slightest movment of the accel cable makes it pull up too.

the clunk and the slip could be 2 seperate problems so also check your mounts, we have one mount that seems to be very poorly designed, its basically holding the trans up with glue. its down beside the battery on top of the tranny, make sure it hasnt seperated at the top of the rubber. mine broke and it was causing it to shift harsh with a clunk. now it shifts fine. its like 19$ for a genuine honda mount.

Once i tried taking the TV cable off and it shift like a caddy every time except if i pushed the gas down more than half way it would slip, ive done it with chevy nova once and it was fine, just no down shift at WOT.

It could be the TPS. (Throttle position sensor)
but that would then throw a check engine code.
i had the same problem well it whould slip sometimes and takes to long to shift.
and te s light whould flash.
i adjusted the cable...no problem....
