While getting new front rotors and brakes put on yesterday one of the mechanics said i also need a new wheel bearing. has anyone ever replaced one, if so how much did it cost you? the dude said like 250 with life time guarantee for one wheel bearing with labor, but that seems really high...any ideas? is this something that should be replaced immediately? thanks.

OMFG! That seems quite high for a wheel bearing! Anyone have problems with aftermarket ones? I might need one, but if I don't see a difference and or problems I am going aftermarket for sure!

The wheel bearing used to retail for approx. $82.00. Labor is 2 hrs. You also need a seal; add $10 retail. This is per side.

LPB, without looking in my HELMS... isn't the bearing stamped into the HUB?

That's what I thought, when I called augusta, they said the wheel bearings and the hub is one unit, can not be ordered apart. At least that's what it is for the rear.
