When I first start the car and put it into gear

It jumps into gear and the RPMs jump up for a second. It is strange. It only happens when the car is cold and I just started it. I let the RPMs drop a little, then put it into reverse and the car jumps into reverse, then when I put it into drive the car jumps into drive, it almost lurches into drive, if I leave my foot on the brake it will try and jump forward. Is this normal? It doesn't do it if the car is warm.

I suggest let her warm up a little, wait for the rpm's to settle, then continue on

This is normal the engine is just warming up,if you do what leon suggested you shouldn't have a problem

I hope so. I usually let the RPMs drop, but sometimes she will still jump into gear kinda hard. I guess it is just because she is cold, I know it is not the tranny mounts.
