Hello to all. 
I'm not sure if this information may still be useful for you still but here it is. You can keep your crisp and clear Bose premium sound and install an aftermarket head unit. I did it with mine over a year and a half ago and it still works great. All you need to purchase is a Bose interface from an audio dealer, or even Best Buy or Circuit City may carry it as well. It is just a little box that basically keeps both amps from interfering with each other. you wire it up between the radio harness and the vehicle harness and youre all done.
