A while back I bought a set of Konis and some suspension tech lowering springs for my 91 sedan. I asked around to find out how I should set up the shocks - I decided to leave the stiffness setting the way it comes from the factory. for ride height I used the upper perch (of 2) on the rear shocks and the middle perch (of 3) for the front. With this configuration (lowering springs and koni shocks) I should have been at roughly 2" lower than stock in the front and about 1" lower than stock in the rear to give an aggressive stance and almost even fender gap all around.

OK...... here's my problem.....

The rear looked perfect, but the front was HIGHER than stock! (my father has the *exact* same 91 sedan (with a new oem stock suspension) so I had a good reference point to compare.

I'm sure the shocks are the right part and I know they were installed properly, so I suspect it might be the springs. I called the company that makes them and talked to a tech guy to get the specs on the springs (part # so I could compare to the ones I have - front 13.5" and 10 coils, rear 13.25" and 10 coils - which is exactly what my springs look like - I dunno what to do?!?!

I had to set the konis on the lowest perch setting to get the ride to look stock in the front.

If you have any knowledge of these springs or setup - PLEASE HELP!

P.S. If I can't figure it out I'm just gonna have 1 coil cut off the springs until I can afford to get GCs or something.

Doug (ATLimaging) had S T springs, and if I remember correctly, he had to cut a coil off the rear to get them to sit right as well. I am sure he will reply soon. Your other option is to put the Koni's on the middle perch in the rear, and the front on the lower perch.

Keep in mind though that my problem is with the front, not the rear. The backend of the the car is right where it was supposed to be.

I just really don't get how I should have been sitting 2 inches lower than stock with this setup and instead I was 1ich HIGHER than stock?! Once I changed the front shocks to the lowest perch, I was only back to stock instead of being close to 3" below stock.

I'm almost 3 inches off where I should be - thats a HUGE difference. I don't know how this could have happened...

I have the suspension techs. and Leon has seen them on there withouth the Konis and he thugh ti was pretty low. When i put the Konis on i did actually put the front passenger spring upside down and it made the gap bigger than stock. Make sure you have the springs on correctly. I have the konis now and my drop is perfect in my opinion. I believe the little part of the spring is at the top but i did exactly remember They are weird. Other than that the suspension techs have been great

How do you have the konis set? what perches did you use? how does it look?

I bought the ST springs from Doug (ATLImaging), and when I had the springs put on the rear was TUCKED in. At least half of my rear tire was tucked in, BUT my front looked like stock. Hardly, if any, drop at all.

The weird thing for me was that 2 days later, I had my Koni's put on. After the Koni's were put on, the front sat nice and low (on the top perch), BUT NOW the rear that was SO low was now a tad bit higher than STOCK! I don't know whats wrong but now my Legend looks like one of those old muscle cars. And there's nothing I can do since I spent way more on this then I was suppose to. So, until I can afford to get some GC's, mine's staying this way.

Can't you put your rear Konis on the top perch to compensate? or have you already done that?? My rear konis are on the top perch and it looks almost stock...

No no, at one point it was really low. My tires looked like / \. But, that wasn't the problem. After I put my Koni's in the back got RAISED alot!

My front's are on the upper perch, and I'm not sure on the rear. I told him to keep it on the stock perch since it wa already real low. The last thing I woulda thought would happen is have the rear raised.
