if its going up slow then you can try to replace the window run channel.if its making a growl sound it can be the regulator. the regulator is what helps the window move up and down,its attched with the motor.
also,you should check the window and see if it is aligned properly before spending any money.

My windows used to "hop", especially after it rains.

Along with thoroughly lubricating the entire track (both front and rear), make sure you clean them as you go as there's probably a bunch of "muck" in them from the years.

did you lube the leading and trailing edge of the window channel (where the edge of the glass rides) or the "sill" as you posted. the problem is in the channels if it really does need lube.

 

I never had any problems like this, but my driver's window did pop out of it's channel a while ago. I tried to re-align it with no success....

My driver's windows still doesn't roll down, and I'm quite sure I just need to re-align it, or replace the channels but I can't figure out how to get the window out once the door panel is removed, so I need help now too

 

I've recently had problems wth my window popping out of its channel and was not running too smooth. I took the interior part of my door off and found that my regulator/motor was loose. I believe there is about 4 bolts the fasten the motor to the door and i think there is 2 more that hold the regulator up (i'm going by memory). Just make sure you re-alligned my window properly by pushing the window up against the side of the door and tighten the bolts. Then spray the rubber moulding where the window runs. It should solve the problem. Hope that helps.

 

I will definately try that, I looked at my regulator with the door panel off and didn't notice how tight the screws were. The real problem I'm having though is I can't find out how to get the glass out. It is completely "sitting" in my door frame. How can I remove my glass and window run channels, inspect and realign them then re-install into the door panel?

 

well i have come to the conclusion that my problem is way worse after it rains.....moisture is causing my window to go real slow, make noise and sometimes get stuck. Is there a common solution when moisture is the problem?

 

silicone lube applied in the right place will correct 90% of these problems when moisture is gummin it up...really give it a lot of silicone on the edges/channel and not on the rubber wiper that lays horizontally as a wiper.....

 

i just switched the window regulator for $120 yesterday.. my driver side wouldn't roll down.. it stops half way and keeps making a clucking sound.. if i pushed it down along with holding the roll down button it goes down.. so i decided to go to a shop to change the regulator.. after that it works perfect.. hope this helps..
