OK lets get this swap finsihed up. Last time we left off, the passenger side bracket wasn't here and we couldnt get all of the mounts to line up. Bracket came so we lifted engine to attach bracket to motor and everything lined up perfectly on the 1st try!
Next was the tedious part, everything under the car was hooked up: trans linkage, exhuast, mid mounts, etc.
Put radiator back in, changed out some hoses, connected fuel filter, hooked up power steering pump & ac line & connected the vacuum lines
Installed new axles
put battery tray back in & was hooking up fuse box when we noticed the postive L bracket sometime along the way broke..Epic Fail!
It was late so & nothing was open to fix the wire so we ended the night here disappointed because we wanted the car running tonight. :angryfire: Only thing left to do is hook up the battery, fill up all the fluids, change the ECU & then its time for start up!
Changed the ECU
Went to junkyard & cut enough wire and the L bracket from a honda civic which was an exact match. Soldered and heatshrinked wire and connected to fuse box.
Put all fluids in car & now we are ready for start up!
Started up on the 1st try :excited: but was running kinda rough :angryfire:
After a few adjustment engine was running very smooth
Xclusive's 3.5 Type 2 Hybrid swap is a success!
I would like to thank Jon, a real cool dude, because without his help I would probaly still be procrastinating on doing a 3.5 swap right now :lol2::lol2::lol2: & Swift for the knowledge along the way to make this a success.
Now that the coupe is back alive, I can start getting her back to "Xclusive" status (after a stupid hit and run driver)
:excited: :excited: :excited:
