I highly recommend seafoam. I used it on my legend which had 154,000 at the time. I used almost the whole can, pouring like 1/6 of the can in at a time until the seafoam smoke stopped coming out. My car idles flawlessly now and seems to accelerate a lot harder with no hesitation.

Well, before taking it over to autozone, I would recommend that you check out this thread to figure out what ECU codes the car is putting out:

ive tried at autozones before i knew i could run the codes myself. they dont run the diagnostics on legends......only 1996 and up, they need OBD-2

but you can try, the people at my autosone are asses

Si seafoamed the engine 1/3 brake booster line 1/3 fuel. i left the car alone for about 40 mins. i was surprised how clean the engine was not a lot of smoke like some people describe very lil smoke. I guess when u put the premium fuel really does clean the engine.

Seafoam is good. You can also fog the intake with ATF if you're feeling spry. You can google that.

dude I've always wanted to do this to my 96 RL, but I don't know how to. I afriad I'll damage the engine. Anyway it has 145,590 miles on it and i'm getting 17mpg lol thats bad. It would be great if some one post a DIY of an 1996 RL not a Legend lol.

you can use 2 diff. hoses, brake booster hose (towards engine) or you can use the pcv hose...
