Noob mistake

Hello all. New here. I found a lovely little auto Acura coupe for sale. I made the mistake of buying it with no title. Now the car isn't registered as stolen. But the guy I bought it from isn't the title holder (I know I know it was stupid) is there any chance for me to get it? Any help would be appreciated. It's a JDM Acura legend L type II.

I hope u didn't pay full price and got at least a bill of sale! You should be able to file for a lost title can't you? Welcome to the fourms also

This is a serious mistake that may have cost you big time. You getting a title depends on your state law and the VIN. Depending on what the VIN search yields, that could be good or bad. You need to check with your insurance company, as well as your local DMV office. In most cases, you can actually go on to the DMV's website for some kind of info. regarding title stipulations. I hope this works in your favor, considering what you have working against you. Keep us posted.

Thank you for the responses. I got a bill of sale, and I got some kinda good news. The original owners info and number. There doesn't seem to be any problem with the vin. At least according to the DMV site. I think I can file for a lost title if I am in contact with the original owner. Hope it goes well for me.

Thanks for all the well wishes. Ok got another problem. I recently cleaned my throttle body (it was dirty) without the proper research. Didn't disconnect battery or tps. Sprayed throttle body cleaner and cleaned. Now I have a high idle. Idles at near 2000 rpms. In drive it's about 1100. If I drive and let go of the gas, it will stay at whatever speed I was going without slowing. Any help will be greatly appreciated. Forgive me if there is already a thread on this.

Probably have a sticking butterfly. I would try cleaning again. Also make sure the cables are adjusted properly
