True. Now I just need to find a 96+ RL in the junk yard. THAT's going to be the tough part. Hence, I wanted to find something a bit more common. Oh well. Thanks!

just use needlenose pliers, and unscrew it. i found that was the easiest part, the hardest part for me was putting the stopper back in the spot before.

Are there any side effects or disadvantages after doing this?
Isnt there something you guys can put where the stop was that can somehow tell you that it is in the sealed close position? Anything?

well the only thing i experienced, is, mine got stuck. haah simple as that, i now know if i lubed it, it wouldnt get stuck. but if heard, if you try to close it too much while at highway speeds the stopper can break which wouldnt be good.

the way i checked to see if it was closed was just simple reach out the window and feel with my hand to see if its flush. after a couple times of using it you can see how long it takes to close it, usually its about a 1second push. just practice, but make sure you lube the tracks after you clean them

Has anyone had any negative effects of doing this mod, such as leaking or wind noise while closed??

As long as the moon roof is closed correctly, theres no noise problem. You get used to closing it. The only issue I had was going from tilt to open, it would get stuck. I simply had to rub some silicon spray on the back rubber seal of the moon roof though and its been fine ever since.

I think OEM is the best look. I just don't happen to think any of the various arrangements of OEM got it exactly right all at once
